INDUSTRY NEWS: Business event company P.R.A. Inc., has formed a partnership with destination management company Tour East in an effort to reach the Asia Pacific region. 

ATLANTA: The 13th annual Atlanta Design Festival will take place June 1-9. Featured design districts will include Ponce City Market and Westside Provisions District.

BOSTON: Wicked Local Provincetown: "Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg will be in Provincetown on Friday, July 5, for a free rally at town hall followed by a private fundraising event in the West End. Buttigieg will be appearing at the rally before a variety show put on by teenagers from Camp Lightbulb, a nonprofit serving LGBTQ youth ages 14 to 18, said Bryan Rafanelli, who along with his partner, Mark Walsh, hosted a fund-raiser at their Boston home for the candidate on April 30."

NEW YORK: The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and Diffa: Design Industries Foundation Fighting A.I.D.S. have launched the Design Impacts Life Fund. The new program will offer grants to nonprofits that provide services, education, and treatment to those affected by H.I.V. and A.I.D.S.

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA: The Alida, a Tribute Portfolio hotel, has opened on the city’s waterfront. The 173-room hotel has three restaurant and bar concepts and three meeting rooms that span 1,200 to 1,500 square feet.

WASHINGTON: The Washington Ballet raised $850,000 at its Annual Spring Gala, which took place May 1 at the Anthem. 

Washington Business Journal: “Candytopia, the modern-day Candyland-meets-Willy Wonka attraction, will sweeten the Greater Washington retail scene in the next year. The pop-up concept, which occupies between 14,000 and 25,000 square feet for four to five months, will open in the next 12 months likely in the Tysons area, said Candytopia C.E.O. John Goodman. A location has not been finalized yet.”
