CALGARY: 2023’s Raindrop Gala will take place on Saturday, April 29 at 7 p.m. through Sunday, April 30 at 1 a.m. at TELUS Spark Science Centre. The gala is an annual fundraiser that raises money and awareness for global poverty, with 100% of funds raised through ticket sales, donations, sponsorships, and the silent auction donated to the World Partnership Walk. OTTAWA: The Ottawa Festival Network (OFN) has announced that Toby Whitfield will temporarily assume the role of president and chair, as current president and chair Holly Tarrison-Gaskin steps down, until the annual general meeting on May 24. Whitfield previously served as the chair of OFN's advocacy committee and has been involved in Capital Pride in various roles since first joining the board of directors in 2016.
TORONTO: The National Ballet of Canada has announced that this year’s gala, MAD HOT BALLET: Deco Danse, will take place on June 6 at the Four Seasons Centre for Performing Arts. The event will feature a specially curated performance of short works showcasing the National Ballet’s dancers and a reception with themed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. VIP guests will be treated to a private dinner onstage before ending their evening dancing alongside artists of the National Ballet.
