More than 750 guests gathered at the Pearson Convention Centre for a Trillium Health Centre Foundation fund-raiser, which raised more than $150,000 for the facility's expansion.
Diwali, a five-day worldwide festival celebrating the Hindu New Year, was the inspiration for the event's theme. Trillium Health development officer Dipti Rach and her team of organizers collaborated with local vendors to produce the dinner and show.
Design2Decor Inc. created the look of the event, which included a cocktail reception, a marketplace where merchandise was sold, and a stunning sand art tribute to Rangoli, a prominent figure in the Hindu religion and a focal point of the Diwali celebration.
Guests posed for portraits shot by Just Cameras before enjoying a delicious dinner, catered by The Host. A pyrotechnics display after the main course kicked off the entertainment, which included a fashion show emceed by Robin Gill of Global Television featuring the stunningly vibrant hues and shimmering fabrics in vogue for Diwali from Mississauga-based Lishkara Fabrics. Cirque Sublime's daring aerial feats brought the event to a breathtaking close.
