Kevin Lee
39, Producer/Production Director
Giant Impact/Leadercast, Suwanee, Ga.
What I really do: “I manage everything from the stage to the broadcast for our annual one-day Leadercast Live event. There are 6,000 in-person attendees and it’s simulcast to 100,000-plus people in 800 host sites worldwide. My goal is to create an event unlike any other leadership conference with stellar live performances, insightful and inspiring videos, and, most importantly, a great deal of entertainment. It’s also my responsibility to make sure the live feed is flawless.”
How he got here: Lee’s career has taken a few different routes, from working with artists at Sony Music to driving a safari truck at Disney World to running camps and clubs for nonprofits. Through it all, Lee realized he truly enjoyed logistics, particularly when it came to producing live events, and joined Giant Impact’s Leadercast in 2009.
Bragging rights: In 2015, Lee produced a video shoot with Malala Yousafzai in an undisclosed location in the U.K. because Yousafzai, her family and his team were concerned about safety. “The week we were in London preparing, there was an attack on a school in Pakistan, which the Taliban said was retaliation for Malala’s speeches. They said anyone associated with helping her platform would also be a target.” Fortunately, Lee’s team didn’t have any issues and garnered incredible content from [Yousafzai] for a video they ran during Leadercast Live about bravery.
