* INCOMING *

1. FACEBOOK UNVEILS MUSIC, TIMELINE FEATURES:
With some help from Andy Samberg, of “Saturday Night Live,” Facebook C.E.O. Mark Zuckerberg held court at yesterday's F8 conference in San Francisco, where Zuckerberg unveiled "timelines" and the streaming of movies and music, among other initiatives. Oh, and he announced that the site now has 800 million users.

Mashable on the new timeline: "The new Timeline is the answer to the problem of filling in the context of someone’s entire life. It is a moving mosaic of the photos, videos, places and status updates that make up not just your Facebook profile, but in a way, your personality."

Mashable on the six things you need to know about the new changes: "The whole impression left by the event was that of a confident, fast-evolving company that is becoming ever more professional, and Zuckerberg’s stage show bore more than a little resemblance to an Apple keynote. It’s going to be interesting to see what Google+ can do to keep up."

Mashable on what this means for marketers: “Facebook’s bold list of changes…will put more pressure on advertisers to come up with compelling content and integrate themselves further into consumers’ lives. The big loser? The “Like,” which will have a smaller role in marketing, industry analysts say.”

The New York Times: "Facebook is not becoming a purveyor of media products, like Apple or Amazon.com. Rather, it is teaming up with companies that distribute music, movies, information and games in positioning itself to become the conduit where news and entertainment is found and consumed."

2. PETER GATIEN NOW: The New York Times catches up with the king of '90s New York clubs—the Palladium, the Tunnel, and Limelight—now living in Toronto: "His fortunes depleted, Mr. Gatien bears little resemblance to the stone-faced mogul who lorded over a generation of club kids. He is a man who seems broken and lost, unsure of how to get back. The $3,000 rent on the apartment is paid largely by family and friends. He has no car. And he rarely goes out for dinner or travels, preferring instead to stay at home." The occasion is "Twilight," a documentary about him that opens today in New York.

3. PERSONAL TECH TOOLS AT THE OFFICE: The New York Times: "Encouraging employees to buy their own laptops, or bring their mobile phones and iPads from home, is gaining traction in the workplace: “The phenomenon is upending the corporate market, which has traditionally hinged on electronics makers cultivating tight relationships with I.T. departments. 'We heard from people saying, ‘How come I have better equipment at home?‚' said Mike Cunningham, chief technology officer for Kraft Foods. 'We said, hey, we can address that.'”

4. UNDERAGE MODEL: The agency that represented one of New York Fashion Week's breakout models, Valerija Sestic, lied about the 15-year-old's age, saying she was 16 to meet the CFDA's new age requirement. The model walked in a dozen shows, including Tory Burch, Rodarte, and Donna Karan. Wall Street Journal (subscribers only):
