McDaniel Out of In Style, Starts Own Firm

In Style special projects editor Cynthia Parsons McDaniel was among the 105 employees Time Inc. laid off last month, but she wasted no time setting up her own event planning company, which she named Studio 12-142 for the number of her office suite in the Ansonia. McDaniel’s focus will mainly be on film, television, and fashion events in New York, Los Angeles, and Europe. She told us she’s producing an upcoming listening party for singer Duncan Sheik, and has Academy Awards-related events in the works.
