Rachael Glaws, Los Angeles-based event producer for the past five years, returned to her native D.C. earlier this year to launch a boutique events agency, RGI Events & Public Relations.

In L.A., Glaws produced events for the likes of Target, Clear Channel, and Comedy Central through both a planning firm as well as freelance work. She got her start in the music industry, producing concerts for artists like B.B. King and Prince, which led to an events role at a local venue and, eventually, a full-time event position.“It has been an ambition of mine to launch my own company since I became involved in the industry,” she said. “[I wanted to] create events true to my production philosophy—pairing solid logistics and management with chic and stylish production.”

In an RGI press release, Glaws explained that the D.C. events industry has “grown in leaps and bounds” in the years she has been gone. Her new company will provide full-service event planning and production for social and corporate clients, but is also focusing extensively on the nonprofit sector. Her current project is Brainfood’s second annual Grill-Off, a benefit at Decatur House on June 12.
