Security company ADT held a public activation at New York’s Grand Central Terminal on September 13. The activation, themed around the question “What do you want to protect?,” consisted of a gallery of prized pop culture items, including Muhammad Ali’s boxing robe from the LeRoy Neiman and Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation; a space suit from astronaut Scott Kelly; and a horse skull from art critics Jerry Saltz and Roberta Smith (pictured). The activation, which also included an interactive social wall, was produced by Praytell and designed by McCann.

McDelivery Night In

McDonald’s and Uber Eats held an event on September 17 at New York's Chelsea Market to celebrate the third annual McDelivery Night In—a promotion that encouraged people to order McDonald’s delivery on the app to win branded swag T-shirts, slippers, and socks. The event offered guests McDonald’s merch, including sweaters with custom stitching and a shirt inspired by the brand’s fry box. McDonald’s partnered with We Communications and the Narrative Group to produce the event.

TIFF

The 44th Toronto International Film Festival took place September 5 to 15. An official sponsor for a second consecutive year, Lyft activated a trailer that played movie trailers and offered passersby popcorn as they waited for films. The interior featured a surreal, pink mirror installation for photo ops. The trailer was located on Festival Street, a public area that housed a majority of TIFF's partner activations. Cheetos held a New York Fashion Week-adjacent event September 5 to 7 at the Altman Building. The fashion and beauty event, inspired by fans on social media posting Cheetos-theme looks, included a runway show and styling bars. San Francisco Symphony’s Opening Night Gala

San Francisco Symphony kicked off its 108th season with its annual gala on September 4, honoring conductor Michael Tilson Thomas, who is celebrating his 25th and final season as music director. Blueprint Studios produced and designed the event, which included a dinner inside San Francisco City Hall that featured textured table linens, hot-pink velvet draping and carpet, and magenta and violet floral centerpieces. N.Y.F.W.: The Shows

New York Fashion Week ran September 6 to 11, with several sponsors activating at the show hub at Spring Studios. Nespresso worked with Swedish bicycle manufacturer Velosophy to build a bike made from 300 recycled coffee pods. The bike is painted in the same bright purple as Nespresso's "Arpeggio" coffee pod and features a pod-shaped bell and a cup holder basket. Twitter’s Pop-Up Candy Shop

For Twitter’s new out-of-home campaign, the social media giant staged a pop-up candy shop for consumers on September 10 at Union Square Park in New York. Produced by NA collective, the candy shop was housed in a greenhouse-style trailer. Candy arranged by color served as a background for printed-out tweets. IMEX America

The ninth edition of IMEX American meeting industry trade show took place September 10 to 12 at the Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas. Experiential activities encouraged creativity, such as a string art wall where attendees marked the ways in which they are similar.
