More magazine's pretty, tasteful party at the Puck Building had more than one purpose: The magazine presented its Changing Destiny awards, and celebrated the launch of its first book, 50 Celebrate 50. The event also had a fund-raising.phpect--Susan Sarandon, who wrote the book's foreward and appeared at the party, had the magazine raise money for one of her pet charities, Help a Parent, Save a Child, a nonprofit organization that helps children and supports young families.
To raise money, items up for bid during a silent auction were on display at the Puck Building, and guests browsed the goods while sipping cocktails and eating hors d'oeuvres such as roasted figs with gorgonzola and pancetta provided by the Cleaver Company. The party then moved into the venue's ballroom, where Broadway actress Carol Woods sang, and Sarandon presented scholarship and recognition awards to some beneficiaries of the nonprofit and several women honored in the book. Tables were set up for the honorees, as were rows of white chairs for the rest of the guests.
On the tables, Cleaver Company put out some pretty, edible centerpieces: beautifully arranged--and appetizing--plates of cheese and fruit.
Against the backdrop of golden yellow tablecloths and strands of simple white Christmas lights, the party's overall effect was autumnal and elegant.

The Cleaver Company used plates of cheese and fruit as pretty, edible centerpieces at More magazine's event at the Puck Building.

Floral designer Pierre Haibl put out small flower arrangements and candles placed in metal tins on the cocktail tables.

The stage for the awards presentation was draped with golden fabric.
