* INCOMING *
1. COCKTAIL TIME: Chef Homaro Cantu's Chicago restaurant ING has introduced a menu of "flavor-tripping" cocktails that "change from one drink to another while you are drinking them." Serious Eats: "Aesthetically, they are both interesting and attractive—a 'gin and tonic on the rock' is served in an Erlenmeyer flask with a frozen sheath of lime-juice ice around the outside." A slide show shows the elaborate presentation:

Meanwhile, from The Daily: "Mixologist Cristina Bini’s insect-adorned libations are the featured attraction at her new Manhattan restaurant, White & Church, where crickets, scorpions and worms wriggle their way into high-end cocktails." There's a video, too:

2. EVOLUTION OF A FOOD ARTIST: This week's New York magazine looks at how Jennifer Rubell found her way as an artist and developed her signature style of interactive food experiences. (Perhaps you remember her desserts served in balloons or her wall of donuts?) "Interaction, she explains, is her medium; food had been the means to engage." Now she's moving beyond the art parties where she made her name—this fall, Rubell’s work will appear in five shows around the world.

We spoke to Rubell last year about several of her projects (the story also has a slide show of her work):

And here's our video with Rubell at the 2010 Brooklyn Ball, where she built a pinata of Any Warhol's head, and melted cheese over a table of crackers:

3. GOOGLE'S MEETING STYLE: Curious how Google does earnings calls? Yesterday the company streamed its Q2 call on YouTube—it's here:

You can also watch the entire video of the 2011 stockholders meeting in early June. (Executive chairman Eric Schmidt's opening: "The lunches here are fantastic.")

* ABOUT LAST NIGHT *
Seriously, are we still making people wait outside an event, using the "We're at capacity" line, only to let them in later to find a half-empty room? It might make some people feel cool, but it makes others feel duped. (We're looking at you, ironic celebrity fragrance launch.)
