The Hollywood community came together for the fifth biennial incarnation of the fund-raising telecast Stand Up to Cancer, a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. Bradley Cooper was executive producer for the event, produced by Done + Dusted in collaboration with the Stand Up To Cancer production team. The telecast was broadcast live from the Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles on September 9.
The show’s updated phone bank area backstage was this year known as the Hub. Inside were activations to promote healthy living—namely a juice bar and gym setup as the main focal points. Throughout the telecast, celebrities provided tips on how to make healthier choices in everyday life—for example the importance of getting regular screenings, as explained by Ken Jeong and Tony Hale.
Also from the Hub, social media personalities and entertainment and sports celebs interacted with viewers via various social media channels, as well as on the phone during the show. In addition, all the activity in the Hub was captured via a Facebook Live stream hosted by MSNBC correspondent Jacob Soboroff.
