2. Canadian Marketing Association Awards

The association’s biggest annual event had a record 10-year attendance in 2018 with 1,200 of the country’s best marketers and their clients returning to the Westin Harbour Castle for the gala and dance party. A new competition category, best cannabis marketing, has been added to the mix this year. Next: November 22, 2019

This year’s event, overseen by Strategy magazine, Canada's national marketing and media publication, ended with a jubilant Raptors viewing party the night the team became N.B.A. champs. Creative excellence in advertising and branding was honoured, and BBDO Toronto won Best of Show for “The Paralympic Network.” Production studio Thinkingbox was the patron sponsor. Next: Spring 2020

The big winner last year was Cossette, for the third year in a row, taking top honors for work with McDonald’s, SickKids, Via Rail, and Egg Farmers of Canada. Next: October 30, 2019
