Pink Taco's Century City outpost opened last night with a circuslike variety of eye candy and entertainment. A real donkey, fully painted pink and emblazoned with Pink Taco's logo, stood sentry at the end of the red carpet, near a mariachi band that played enthusiastically for the pink-wristbanded crowd (which, appropriately, included Ron Jeremy). On the outdoor patio overlooking Santa Monica Boulevard, a costumed stiltwalker maneuvered throughout the throng, while inside, waiters passed the restaurant's signature Mexican dishes, and a photo booth snapped guests' mugs in front of a booth-size step-and-repeat wall bearing the names of the restaurant and sponsor Axe. Harry Morton's Pink Taco already has locations in Vegas and Scottsdale.
