With Wolfgang Puck's district debut just a few weeks away, news surrounding his trilevel restaurant Source is starting to leak. Post food critic Tom Sietsema reported today that Puck has named his sometimes protégé Scott Drewno to helm the venue's multiple kitchens. Drewno spent more than five years working for Puck establishments Chinois and Spago in Vegas, and most recently served at Ruby Foo's and Vong in New York. "I see Washington as a blossoming restaurant city with good challenges here now," Drewno told Sietsema about his new gig.

Set to open later this month in the much-anticipated Freedom Forum complex on Pennsylvania Avenue and 6th Street, Source will feature three distinct areas—a 50-seat subterranean event space, a 70-seat casual dining lounge on the street level, and a 130-seat formal dining room on the second floor. The lounge will encompass a big bar and a wood-burning oven, churning out an affordable menu of  steak tartare, oysters, and cheese plates. Upstairs, Puck's signature Asian dishes will be available, including chili crabs, Peking-style duck, and pad Thai.

In related news, the oft-delayed Newseum opening date has yet to be announced. Museum C.E.O. Charles L. Overby told the Post in August, "We are aiming for a formal opening in the first quarter of next year. We now have assurances that they will be done by the end of the year. We think they will be done by the end of November. Yet, having been burned once, we are holding up on setting a grand opening."
