Manhattan Beach Gets New Contemporary Mexican Eatery

Manhattan Beach has a smart-looking newcomer on its restaurant roster. Mike Zislis took over the former Michi with Mucho Ultima Mexicana, now home to chefs Ruben Rodriguez and John Butler, who offer contemporary Mexican cuisine alongside a drink menu of the country's classic cocktails. The decor has Mexican-inspired elements, including a variety of leathers and walls decorated in reds and oranges. The overall design is marked by clean lines.A chandelier of 65 lights complements the amber lighting and serves as a room divider. Rolling doors take guests onto the terrace, which can be used as a private dining room for 30. The entire venue is available for events, and holds 150.
