Orange County entrepreneur Moe Ghazi (the man behind Ten Asian Bistro and Mosun) added to his portfolio of venues earlier this month with the opening of Code Restaurant & Lounge. Kenneth Ussenka of KU Productions designed the space, taking inspiration from earth and water elements as well as Mediterranean and Pan-Asian influences—much like the global menu designed by executive chef Christian Felippa.
Code’s minimalist design is divided into three spaces: an entry area with a wall holding hundreds of bottles of Cristal, a dining area with a glass-enclosed maple wine cellar that holds 1,200 bottles, and a lounge and dance floor with a shimmering LED-lit wall behind the bar.
The entire venue is 9,000 square feet and seats 188 or holds 297 for receptions. Smaller events for 50 can take over the Champagne Room, or groups of about 70 can book the dance floor area. The venue is available for partial buyouts any day, or full boyouts on Sundays (and other days at higher rates).
