Sushi on Sunset L.A. has recently opened a new private room, which the venue showed off at a dinner for celebrities and media earlier this month. The space has a sliding door that closes to create an intimate environment, and offers sweeping city views plus a view of the restaurant's elevated fire pit. The private room seats 20, or holds about 40 for receptions.
The Pan-Asian restaurant—called Empress until it became Sushi on Sunset under new management this spring—also has a full bar, sushi bar, lounge, and Sunset Boulevard patio.
The menu comes from sushi chef Tetsuro Ahn, with items like Korean-style sesame short ribs with Asian slaw, grilled Asian-rubbed lamb in lettuce cups with cucumber oil, and lemongrass-skewered salmon drizzled with plum sauce and red rice.
The restaurant seats 110 and is available for buyouts.
