1. On an 86-acre property in New Jersey is Frogbridge Events, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The large compound of gaming facilities just underwent a renovation, which includes a new pool and a 10,000-square-foot paved area for outdoor functions. In addition to various picnic sites, Frogbridge also offers Windows on the Water, a catering facility that seats 200.2. Trump on the Ocean won’t be ready until 2009, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start looking into it now. Inside Jones Beach State Park in Nassau County on Long Island is the 75,000-square-foot Donald Trump development, created in partnership with Steven Carl (owner of Carlyle on the Green). The oceanfront property will include a banquet hall, lounge, and restaurant for private events.
3. Currently being renovated and expected to reopen in the fall is Bear Mountain Inn, a historic lodge in upstate New York built in 1915 that features original working fireplaces and timber accents. For meetings and conferences, the rustic retreat has plenty of options: banquet rooms and other function areas for groups of 30 to 200 spread across 27,000 square feet. For a smaller group of overnighters, the inn offers its Stone Lodges—six-room cottages, each with a separate lobby.
