Orlando will have a new live entertainment venue when Baby Grands Dueling Piano Bar opens on Saturday. The 6,700-square-foot facility is located on a section of Church Street that is being revitalized to capitalize on traffic from the new Amway Center that opened a few blocks away on October 1. Several other restaurants and nightspots are scheduled to open in the area in the coming months.
The stage is the focal point of the main floor, which has 25 four-top high tables. A team of musicians performs nightly from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. with a 6 p.m. start on Fridays. They encourage audience participation and select songs based on guests' requests.
For a more intimate setting, there are five semi-circular booths with leather seating a few steps up from the main floor. Each one faces the stage and can accommodate five people. Larger groups can take over the upper deck, an area behind the booths that can accommodate 200 people. It has 15 seats at a counter facing the stage, 30 seats at the bar, and room for several cocktail tables. This area is also suited for catering set-ups. A second bar, with seating for 15, is located near the front door.
To escape the music, guests can head to the 450-square-foot patio lounge, situated behind the stage with a wall of sliding glass windows that overlook Church Street. The room has seating for 25 at cocktail tables and a small bar.
Baby Grands’ menu includes sandwiches, salads, hamburgers, and chicken wings. There is a separate catering menu for private events.
