Here's a look at the best new Las Vegas restaurants, corporate event venues, hotels, conference centers, and private and party rooms to open for events this winter. These new and renovated Las Vegas venues can accommodate groups large or small for private and corporate events, conferences, meetings, weddings, business dinners, teambuilding activities, cocktail parties, and more.
Located five minutes from McCarran International Airport and the Las Vegas Strip, freestanding event facility International Peace Education Center—known as IPEC—opened in August. With more than 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the venue is suitable for corporate meetings, conferences, training seminars, weddings, or reunions. Features include a 10,000-square-foot ballroom, a 5,000-square-foot reception foyer, a 1,300-square-foot multipurpose room, and five other conference rooms. The venue, owned by the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, also offers overnight accommodations for as many as 200 people.
The Keep Memory Alive Event Center's new outdoor grass area was completed in June. Replacing what was once rocks, the 6,000-square-foot lawn holds 400 for outdoor receptions and weddings. The new addition adds to the event center's 9,200-square-foot interior, which seats 400 guests or holds 700 for receptions.
Chef Alain Ducasse debuted Rivea and Skyfall Lounge on the top floor of the Delano Las Vegas in October. Inspired by the French and Italian rivieras, Rivea offers traditional cold-cut boards, pasta and pizza with Mediterranean accents, and more than 300 wines from California, France, and Italy. The main dining room seats 200, and a private dining room seats 50. The theater-style Skyfall, located adjacent to Rivea, features a central dance floor, patio, and seating islands. Together, the space amounts to 14,624 square feet.
The first indoor skydiving facility in the country, Vegas Indoor Skydiving debuted a new event space in October. The venue's simulated skydiving experience involves a 12- by 22-foot wind tunnel powered by a 1,000 horsepower electric motor attached to a DC-3 airplane propeller. The new 1,500-square-foot event space is located downstairs from the wind tunnel and can be booked for private events of as many as 120 guests.
The Golden Tiki, a tiki bar helmed by club industry veteran Branden Powers, opened in Chinatown in July. The bar's interior includes Polynesian-inspired artwork and props including an indoor waterfall, thatched roofs, shrunken heads, shields and spears, a clam shell love seat, and an animatronic skeleton of a fictional pirate. The 4,000-square-foot venue seats 225; for private events it holds 145 guests.
Salute, a southern Italian concept from Clique Hospitality Group, opened at Red Rock Resort and Casino in September. Helmed by executive chef Luciano Sautto, the restaurant's menu offers savory pasta dishes including a signature truffle tagliatelle, as well as appetizers such as zucchini flowers and salmon carpaccio. An antipasto bar that serves gelato and handmade waffle cones is located at the front of the space. The 4,000-square-foot restaurant's main dining room seats 189, with an indoor/outdoor patio that seats 60 and a private dining room that seats 12.
Edge Steakhouse opened at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino in July. Known for its aged prime steaks, seafood tower, and Wagyu beef from Snake River Farms in Idaho, the restaurant is helmed by executive chef Nick Lees and has a wine list of more than 450 varieties. The 3,270-square-foot space seats 147 and is available for private events.
The Chada Thai team opened Chada Street in Chinatown in August. With a menu and atmosphere inspired by Thai street food, the restaurant features a large photograph mural depicting vendors roasting meat and a rotating menu of as many as 50 Thai dishes. The 3,200-square-foot restaurant also offers 400 different wines. The space seats 80 in the dining room, 15 at the bar, 25 on sofas at the entrance, and 15 in a private dining room.
Shake Shack opened its second Las Vegas location in Downtown Summerlin at Dining Arroyo in October. Known for its signature burgers, hot dogs, fries, and ice cream treats, the contemporary "roadside" burger joint will offer local twists on its frozen custard concretes. The new location will also serve wine and beer, including its signature Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister Ale. The 3,300-square-foot space seats 160 inside and 60 outside and is available for private events.
The Habit Burger Grill opened its first Las Vegas location in August at the Howard Hughes Center. The California-based fast-casual burger chain features a signature Charburger, as well as made-to-order salads and sandwiches. The 2,400-square-foot space seats 86 and has a communal table and a patio.
