With a mere 20 days before Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, vendors, venues, and a variety of big name sponsors are working to churn-out last minute details for the more than 100,000 revelers and 3,500 credentialed media that will flood the area in the upcoming weeks.
According to the Tampa Bay Host Committee, 7.5 million events-including living room viewing parties-take place around the country on Super Bowl Sunday. However, this year Tampa and its surrounding cities of Sarasota and Clearwater will forgo crowded couches and nacho cheese dip for celebrity-studded events, premium lounges, and live music performances.
Here is our first look at the events to keep on your radar:
- Vertical Sports Group and Schlegal Woy Management have chosen downtown Tampa's Jackson's Bistro-connected to the waterfront Wyndham Harbour Island Hotel-to host the sixth annual Leather & Laces Super Bowl event. Attracting more than 2,000 guests last year in Phoenix, the January 30 event will be hosted by Kim Kardashian, Jenny McCarthy, and Carmen Electra, and will feature entertainment compliments of Los Angeles-based DJ Tendaji Lathan.
- The following evening, the event partners will host the Saturday Night Spectacular presented by American Airlines and Texas Energy Holdings Inc. at the T. Pepin Hospitality Centre. Hosted by NFL great Michael Strahan and Kevin Costner (who will also be performing), the third annual party will benefit the Matthew Tryson Bryant Foundation. Additional entertainment will include a performance by Starship SuperGroup- which consists of Mickey Thomas, Bobby Kimball (lead singer of Toto), Jimi Jamison (former leader single of Survivor), and Skip Martin (former lead singer of Kool & the Gang and the Dazz Band. The performance will be back lined by ASR Pro Events.
Additional participating vendors for both events include Cirque USA, Cort Event Furnishings, Premier Limousine, and PR services from the Patton Group of Miami.
- The Good Life Experience, produced by Pound 4 Pound Events, consists of three distinctively different parties dubbed: Legends, Icons, and Champions of the Good Life. Hosted by Diddy, along with guests like Deion Sanders and boxer Winky Wright, the events will be held at St. Petersburg's the Venue, just 15 minutes south of Tampa on January 29 to 31. The series will also include a Celebrity Golf Classic on the January 29 at the Feather Sound Country Club in Clearwater and a walk to benefit breast cancer on January 31 at North Straub Park. Participating vendors include the Venue's in-house catering team under the direction of Chef Rob Uzzillia, decor compliments of RSBP Events, and PR being handled by Centurion Strategies.
