Right next to Grand Central, the Grand Hyatt New York
just added the new 5,000-square-foot Manhattan Ballroom, with 24-foot glass walls overlooking Lexington Avenue and 42nd Street. The walls feature eucalyptus and maple wood detailing, and 12 oval chandeliers are suspended from a polished chrome ceiling. It can accommodate 350 for a sit-down dinner, or 490 for a theater-style set-up. An additional 3,000 square feet of pre-function space offers high-speed Internet access and drop-down video screens, and two smaller, 840-square-foot rooms can hold 50 each for a sit-down affair. —Suzanne Ito
