This Week: Tonys, CFDAs, and MoMA's Garden

Today, the League of American Theatres and Producers holds Stars in the Alley, with cast members of Broadway shows performing in Shubert Alley. The Central Park Conservancy’s Taste of Summer fills Bethesda Terrace with culinary delights. The Museum of Arts and Design benefits from a preview of the Sculpture Objects and Functional Art Expo at the Park Avenue Armory; the fair opens to the public on Thursday and ends Sunday.

Thursday, the New York Botanical Garden’s Conservatory Ball (one of our Top 100 Events) lures a society crowd to the Bronx. And on Friday, BookExpo America opens at the Javits Center (it runs through Sunday). The Brooklyn International Film Festival commences at the Brooklyn Museum and continues through June 12.

On Sunday, Broadway’s finest are honored with the American Theatre Wing’s Tony awards at Radio City Music Hall. A gala follows at the Marriott Marquis, with event production by Tobak-Dantchik Events & Promotions.

This Monday, KCD is producing the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s chic awards at the New York Public Library. And Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates its spring gala uptown at the Apollo Theater. Next Tuesday, the Museum of Modern Art’s big Party in the Garden returns to the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden and honors museum benefactor David Rockefeller. Avi Adler is providing decor and Glorious Food is catering. The Museum Mile Festival is also that day, with outdoor festivities and numerous Fifth Avenue museums open free to the public.
