Sofitel Chicago Named World's Number One Hotel by Expedia

The Sofitel Chicago Water Tower recently captured the number-one spot on Expedia's Insiders' Select list—a compilation of the travel Web site's top-rated hotels as chosen by Expedia employees and users. The second-annual list of almost 900 hotels and resorts from around the world based its findings on overall customer ratings in categories including hotel service, condition, cleanliness, and comfort, as well as value ratings determined by comparing hotels with the same star rankings within the same geographical area. The Sofitel Chicago's score of 99.99 put it at number one, with the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa taking the number 2 spot with a rating of 99.63.
