1. GOOGLE’S MYSTERIOUS NEXT PROJECT: A barge floating in the San Francisco Bay said to be operated by Google has drawn speculation that it could become a store for Google Glass, providing an experiential atmosphere for the futuristic product. New York Times: “The early buyers of Glass—a select group known as Explorers who paid $1,500—have been required to pick up the device in-person at scenic locations, where Google employees devote an hour to showing customers how Glass functions and answering questions. Some people, for instance, arrived at a swanky San Francisco hotel bar, where they were given a drink and whisked away to a penthouse suite with outdoor balconies and sweeping views of the city, which they were encouraged to photograph with Glass. In New York, customers had a similar experience on the top floor of Chelsea Market.” http://nyti.ms/17vl1HY
2. SCENES FROM THE NEW YORK WITCH FESTIVAL: In time for Halloween, the New York Witch Festival took place this weekend in Long Island. New York’s the Cut blog: “On Saturday, troves of self-identifying, practicing witches (Wiccans, pagans, shamans, druids, and even a metaphysical Christian or two) gathered at the Upsky Long Island Hotel's grand ballroom to properly kick off Samhain (a.k.a. Halloween). Psychics, mediums, tarot readers, "healers," and a general audience casually interested in witchcraft convened for a day filled with workshops on runes, herbs, healing, and the afterlife, as well as music, vendors, and more.” See the photos here: http://nym.ag/17VRJi2
