Part of our list of New York's Top 10 Event Designers.
Company: EventQuest
Why He's Here: Veeder creates looks that are stark, chic, minimalist, and modern—he’s not your usual flowers-on-the-table guy. He also incorporates a lot of technology in his events, from customized video installations to LED lighting schemes.
What He Does: Veeder’s inventive design and subtle approach to branding has helped marketing events for clients like Mercedes, Departures magazine, CosmoGIRL, Liz Claiborne, Samsung, and various Fortune 500 companies.
Background: Veeder got a taste for events during two years at PR firm Burston-Marsteller, and later did freelance event design for clients like Bloomingdale’s and carpet company Karastan until he met his business partner, John Schwartz. The duo founded EventQuest in 1994.
Age: 41
Trademarks: A trademark Veeder look starts with a blank slate: white on white on white, which is then splashed with vivid lighting and projections—and there’s always a theatrical element.
His Style, His Words: “It’s definitely immersive environments, really dramatic design elements. We design for reaction as well. If we make some metal furniture with cushions, the cushions might be made out of pony skin or something unusual. Our strong point is in the detail.”
His Style, Our Words: Veeder’s work is soothing, clean, and chic, but always with a dramatic flair. The look is always quintessentially EventQuest, but with twists for every event that make it unique.
