Last week, chefs Jon Mathieson and Jonathan Krinn (formerly of 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church) opened Inox restaurant on the ground level of the Corporate Office Park at Tysons II in McLean, 15 miles from downtown Washington. Wine professional John Wabeck, most recently the executive chef at New Heights restaurant in Northwest Washington, heads the wine program.
Designed by New York-based CMS Architecture and Design, the 12,795-square-foot space features contemporary-modern decor (with a touch of retro design in the lounge), floor-to-ceiling windows, and metallic accents in the walls and flooring. Open for lunch and dinner, the menu is modern American, using seasonal ingredients. The wine list has 650 labels and more than 6,000 bottles.
In addition to the 126-seat main dining room, there are two 10-seat private rooms, each with a media center that includes a flat-screen TV, iPod jacks, computer connections, and surround sound. Just beyond the 34-seat bar and lounge, there are two function rooms that can be combined: Amber seats 50 and has a private entrance while Gallery seats 72 and has a bar. The venue is available for partial and full buyouts.
