After months of anticipation, Greenhouse Loft opened in November as part of the Green Exchange, an office and retail complex billed as the country's largest sustainable business community. Equipped with an 8,000-square-foot organic garden, a portrait studio, and a collection of mid-century furniture, the 3,500-square-foot event space can host functions with as many as 250 guests.
Eco-friendly aspects of the building include low toxin paints and stains, air quality sensors, and a heating and cooling system designed to reduce energy use by 22 percent. There's also an on-site recycling system, and energy-efficient windows help regulate the temperature.
Within the venue, an area known as the Loft seats approximately 100 in a classroom-style format and is suited to presentations that require a low level of light. Alternatively, a sun-filled space dubbed the Glass House seats about 120 with tables or can accommodate more with classroom-style seating.
Co-owners Steve Ewert and Jamie Davis are photographers and offer two photography packages. The site has a list of preferred vendors, including environmentally conscious companies such as Going Green Limousine, Pollen, and City Provisions.
