Chocolate fans, take note: There's a new place in town to buy sweet gifts for corporate clients and employees. Three friends—Beata Brutovska, Stanka Hinkova, and Patrick Smets—opened Ambiance Chocolat last month, a South Riverdale shop specializing in soft-centred, ganache-based bonbons made in-house using French chocolate (Valrhona and Michel Cluizel). A list of 15 flavours includes candied orange in Grand Marnier with blood-orange caramel, sun-dried cherries in cherry wine, and soft caramel with fleur de sel. The store also sells fair-trade coffee and tea, as well as baked goods like chocolate-chip cherry cookies. Chocolates are packaged in recycled, unbleached gift boxes in quantities of six, 12, 20, or 36, and range in price from $6.75 to $35.95.
