April showers are rote, but severe flooding is an issue for any planner—especially for one about to welcome 600 guests to a high-end garden party. Luckily, a major storm didn't put much of a damper on the Chicago Botanic Garden's Antiques & Garden Fair Preview Evening, which took place inside the garden's buildings and under Partytime's tents on April 23.
While the skies turned grey and brooding, inside was a picture of color-drenched, springy cheer. The evening's theme was "Color in the Garden: An Artist's View," and landscape designers filled their vignettes with vibrant hues. Jewell Events Catering also took its cues from the color wheel, bringing in appetizer carts that served all-green or all-red bites.
Here's a look at the vibrant evening, which was was co-chaired by Kimberly and Randy Burt, Peggy and Jack Crowe, Kathy and Chris Devent, and Kate and J.T. Fitzgerald.
