P.C.M.A. has appointed Robert Haas chief administrative officer and Delores Hudson vice president of finance. 

AUSTIN: The eighth annual Moontower Comedy Festival takes place April 24-27. Headliners at the Paramount Theatre and Stateside Theatre include Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, David Spade, and the cast of Schitt’s Creek.

CHICAGO: The Joffrey Ballet's 17th annual UnGala will take place April 12 at the Lyric Opera House. 

Hotel Essex has opened on Michigan Avenue adjacent to Grant Park. Formerly the Essex Inn, the 274-room property, which is managed by Oxford Hotels & Resorts, underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation. For meetings and events, the hotel has a 1,239-square-foot venue and a 1,600-square-foot private space at SX Sky Bar, a bi-level restaurant and lounge. 

LOS ANGELES: The 19th annual Taste of Huntington Beach will take place April 28. The event will feature bites from local restaurants and catering companies and tastings from local wineries and breweries. The event raises funds for the Friends of Children’s Library.

NEW YORK: Legoland New York Resort is planning an event on Thursday at the Oculus in Lower Manhattan to unveil a Lego model of the venue that will eventually move to the park when it opens next year. The event also will serve as the launch for its "First to Play" pass of limited-edition tickets to the park and introduce its Kid News Reporter Team.

The Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770 will honor Marc Anthony with the Order of the Golden Sphinx award at the seventh annual Order of the Golden Sphinx Gala at the Pierre. 

Reel Works, an organization that aims to help young people graduate high school, get into college, and launch careers in media, will have its annual benefit gala on April 16 at Capitale. Event honorees include Ruth E. Carter, the Oscar-winning costume designer of Black Panther; Hasan Minhaj, comedian and host of Netflix’s Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj; Michael Houston, C.E.O. of Grey Group; and James F. Lopez, president of Will Packer Productions.

NORWALK, CONNECTICUT: LaKota Oaks, a 66-acre hotel and conference center that was formerly Dolce Norwalk, has opened after a multimillion-dollar renovation of its ballroom, meeting spaces, guest rooms, and fitness center. The 123-room property has 35 meeting and event spaces, the largest of which can seat 480 theater style. 

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA: Tourism Richmond has appointed Patrick Gill director of marketing and Ceri Chong director of destination and industry development.

SAN FRANCISCO:  Glodow Nead Communications is now the P.R. agency of record for the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. 

WASHINGTON: The Washington Ballet's inaugural Dance For All will take place April 6-May 9. The event will bring 50 free events to all eight Washington wards. 

Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington will honor Virginia Ali with the Duke Zeibert Capital Achievement Award at a reception on April 29. The award is one of 21 presented during Rammy Awards season.
