Here’s where to wine and dine groups in L.A.’s entertainment center.
1. Open since March 2011 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Public Kitchen & Bar has a dining room lined with plush banquettes, a restored mural, and an airy private garden room with living walls of succulents and greenery. The private space seats 24 guests at the chef’s table and 26 in all.
2. New at the intersection of Hollywood and Vine in March 2011, the 7,000-square-foot Café Entourage is available for full or partial buyout, with a capacity of 240 seated or 350 for a reception. The dining area has 150 seats and a bar that seats 20. An upstairs lounge has a second bar and a capacity of 100; a patio holds 200 with glass fire pits; and a patio facing Vine has space for 30 guests. The menu includes standards like omelettes, salads, pasta, and pizza, as well as house specials such as lamb chops and beef stroganoff.
3. In September 2010, Cleo opened in the Redbury hotel. It is helmed by SBE executive chef Danny Elmaleh and serves lunch, dinner, and late-night fare from noon to midnight. There’s a mezze bar, with selections of meats, seafood, and vegetables. Buyouts are available for 200. In addition to Cleo, the Redbury has 24-hour room-service and catering throughout the property’s spaces, which are available for full or partial buyout.
