Chandon may be based in California's Napa Valley, but the sparkling wine brand decided to incorporate its French heritage into an all-American party for the launch of its limited-edition American Summer bottles. To celebrate the bottles' design themes of red, white, and blue, the brand hosted its American Summer Fête on June 25 at the High Line in New York.
Produced and designed by Ignition Inc., the event featured a mix of French- and American-inspired decor that was incorporated into the environment, games, and food. "We wanted to honor Chandon's French roots through sophisticated and fresh design elements that highlighted the quality and expertise of the bubbly's birth place, while also integrating the American brand with playful and patriotic nods to local tradition," says Chandon brand manager Christine Guzman. "Design elements brought the signature bottle design to life with colorful ribbons and tactile displays."
The event attracted millennial fans of the brand with experiences including a DJ set by Jilly Hendrix, a performance from indie duo Powers, and patriotic twists on games like giant Connect Four and Jenga. Catering offerings included bites from La Sonrisa Empanada and the Taco Stand, as well as custom Chandon cocktails from People's Pops. Julia Testa also offered guests flower crowns to wear during the event.
Guzman explained that this was the first event Chandon has hosted with a focus on consumers. The party was meant to drive brand awareness, and encouraged attendees to take photos and use the hashtag #ChandonSquad. Guzman also noted that in the future, the brand plans to host similar events throughout the country.
