INDUSTRY NEWS: Meeting Professionals International (M.P.I.) has launched the M.P.I. Canadian Advisory Council. The list of council members can be found here.

DENVER: Frasca Inc. will open Sunday Vinyl, a wine bar adjacent to Union Station, in fall 2019. The venue will seat 65 guests.

GREENWICH, CONNECTICUT: The ninth annual Greenwich Wine and Food Festival will take place September 20-21 at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park. Little Big Town will headline the event, which will feature culinary talent including Valerie Bertinelli, Geoffrey and Margaret Zakarian, and David Burtka. 

LOS ANGELES: The Pasadena Daydream Festival will take place August 31 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl. The Cure, Pixies, Deftones, and Mogwai will headline the festival, which is produced by Goldenvoice.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The Apparel Textile Sourcing Miami trade show will take place May 28-30 at Mana Wynwood Convention Center. 

NEW YORK: American Cancer Society’s 14th annual Taste of Hope will take place May 23 at Metropolitan Pavilion. Participating restaurants will include Calle Ocho, Magnolia Bakery, Sarabeth’s, and the Smith. 

Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s annual Spring Gala will take place June 4.

Lincoln Center’s 49th annual Out of Doors festival season will run June 24-August 11. The festival offers free music, dance, and spoken word performances.

Morty’s Oyster Stand will open in the former Cyril’s space in the Hamptons in June. The seafood restaurant is helmed by Jeremy Morton and Jack Luber, Charles Seich, and chef Sam Talbot. The indoor-outdoor space will seat 150 guests.

SAN DIEGO: ASLA’s Conference on Landscape Architecture will take place November 15-18 at the San Diego Convention Center.

TORONTO: The second annual Urbani_T will take place June 27-29 at Nathan Phillips Square. The event celebrates urban culture by highlighting tastemakers and creatives from music, dance, fashion, arts, and entertainment.

The 20th annual Art Toronto will take place October 25-27 at Metro Toronto Convention Center. The international art fair has appointed Mia Nielsen its new director and has tapped curator João Ribas for Focus: Portugal, an exhibit featuring work from Portuguese galleries and artists.
