AUSTIN: Aloft and Element Austin Downtown has named Mindi Marshall dual general manager. 

HONOLULU: Queen Kapi‘olani Hotel, Waikiki Beach has named Jack Hu general manager. 

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA: Visit Jacksonville has named Tom Norton national account manager, with a focus on sports tourism. 

LOS ANGELES: Pinot noir festival Pinot Palooza will take place in Los Angeles for the first time on September 28 at City Market Social House. The event will offer tastings of 100 wines from 40 wineries.

ROATAN, HONDURAS: Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will open a resort in West Bay Beach in 2021. The brand’s third Caribbean property will have 126 guest rooms and 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. 

TAMPA: The Karol Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio hotel, will open in Clearwater this fall. Managed by Mainsail Lodging & Development, the property will have 123 guest rooms and 7,340 square feet of meeting and event space. 

WASHINGTON: Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. will hold its ninth annual Fantastic 5K and Silent Auction on September 14. The event will benefit the Southwest chapters of Techbridge Girls. 

Taste of Georgetown will take place September 22 at the waterfront area on K Street NW from Wisconsin Avenue to Thomas Jefferson Street. Held in partnership with the Georgetown Business Improvement District, the free event will offer samples from local restaurants and will benefit the Georgetown Ministry Center.
