INDUSTRY NEWS: The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (C.E.I.R.) released results at the C.E.I.R. Predict Conference from a brief survey conducted in August, which evaluated U.S. trade show executive perceptions about U.S. trade tariff policies and whether they have impacted U.S.-based trade shows that have occurred in 2018 through July 2019. The results show tariffs have had an impact for 56 percent of surveyed organizers who produced shows in the time frame, with impacts mostly negative.

CHICAGO: 360 Destination Group has appointed Nicole Zenner account executive for the Chicago market.

Peach, a queer collective that aims to unify L.G.B.T.Q. women and femmes through music, food, art, and entertainment has partnered with veggie-centric restaurant Bad Hunter to host Cloud 9, billed as a “surreal dining experience,” on September 26. The event will occur at a secret location, revealed after ticket purchase.

EDMONTON, CANADA: Edmonton Expo Centre has named GES Canada its official general services provider. 

LOS ANGELES: The second edition of Vegan Fashion Week will take place October 10-15. Events include a kickoff awards night and fund-raiser on October 10 at the Theater at Ace Hotel and Vegan World, a vegan fashion trade show, on October 14-15 at California Market Center. 

Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation's  30th A Time for Heroes event will take place at Smashbox Studios in Culver City on October 27. The annual family festival will honor co-founders Susan DeLaurentis and Susie Zeegen.

MONTREAL: The ninth edition of C2 Montreal has announced its first group of speakers, which includes author Margaret Atwood; Ivy Ross, V.P. of hardware design at Google; and Amy Bach, executive director and president of Measures for Justice. The conference will take place May 27-29, 2020. 

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach will open in November. The fifth Kimpton property in Florida will have 96 rooms, a private rooftop pool, and New York-based Italian restaurant Osteria Morini. 

NEW YORK: Charlotte Tilbury will promote its new Airbrush Flawless Foundation at the Flawless Foundation Truck. The interactive consumer experience will go to Bryant Park on Thursday, SoHo on Friday, Dumbo on Saturday, and the Meatpacking District on Sunday. 

M.M.G.Y. N.J.F., the public relations, social, and experiential marketing arm of M.M.G.Y. Global, has added Tahiti Tourisme United States, Etihad Airways, and the James New York - NoMad as its new travel and hospitality clients.

Nybll, a corporate food service company led by executive chef and co-founder Kristen Thibeault, has opened a commercial kitchen in Oakland. The 12,000-square-foot location will offer plant-based meals for corporate catering.

WASHINGTON: Washington City Paper: Organizers of the H Street Festival have criticized the nearby Whole Foods and Starbucks for not contributing sponsorship money to the event, which takes place Saturday.
