CHICAGO: The seventh annual Assembly Show will take place October 22-24 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. The event draws more than 6,000 suppliers, buyers, users of assembly equipment in manufacturing plants.

Greek culinary event Kouzina will take place November 7 at the National Hellenic Museum. Participating restaurants include Avli River North, Inspired Catering and Events, and Saba Kitchen & Bar. 

LOS ANGELES: The Educational Theatre Foundation’s Thespians Go Hollywood gala will take place November 18 at Avalon Hollywood. The event will honor Bernadette Peters and feature performances by Rachel Bloom, Brandy, and Mandy Moore.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Paragon Events will celebrate its 30th anniversary on October 20 with a Mardis Gras-theme event.

NEW YORK: Period apparel brand Ruby Love will host “The Biggest Puberty Party Ever” on October 19 at Mercantile 38. The family-friendly event will have fashion and beauty stations, educational panels and conversations, giveaways, and more. 

The first event for HistoryTalks, A&E Networks’ traveling live event series, will take place February 29, 2020, in the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. The event will feature President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush in conversation with presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin. 

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation held its annual Symposium and Awards Luncheon on Thursday at the New York Hilton Midtown. The event raised more than $2.6 million.

PHILADELPHIA: Pod Philly has opened in Rittenhouse Square. Developed by Modus Hotels and Parkway Corporation, the 252-room property is the sixth Pod Hotel in the U.S. The hotel has a 140-seat Mexican restaurant, Condesa; a coffee shop serving Stumptown Roasters and breakfast tacos; and an 11th-floor taqueria. 

WASHINGTON: The 34th annual Mayor’s Arts Awards, presented by Mayor Muriel Bowser, will take place November 6 at Dock 5 at Union Market.
