People/Events/Accounts: News about the Hubbard Inn, P. Diddy's Revolt Summit, Make Equality Reality Gala, and More

CHICAGO: Hubbard Inn in River North will reopen October 25 following a months-long renovation. The renovation includes a second-floor cocktail lounge, “Blue Violet at Hubbard Inn,” and a third-floor theater-inspired event space. The three-floor venue can host events for groups of 10 to 600 guests.

LAS VEGAS: The X Pot, an Asian fusion restaurant from Haibin Yang and David Zhao, will open inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian in winter 2020. The restaurant will incorporate high-tech elements, such as robot servers and interactive light shows on plates. 

LOS ANGELES: The Revolt Summit, a hip-hop culture and networking event from P. Diddy and his company Revolt TV, will have its second event October 25-27 at Magic Box. The event will have appearances by Lizzo, Issa Rae, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and more. The series is produced by Superfly. 

TAG, a travel and event management company, has been awarded a P.C.I. D.S.S. (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) Level 3 merchant certificate.

NEW YORK: Equality Now’s annual Make Equality Reality Gala will take place November 19 at Capitale. The event will honor Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. 

New York Film Critics Circle will host its annual Gala Awards dinner on January 7, 2020, at Tao Downtown. 

Moonrise Izakaya has opened on the Upper West Side. Owned by Jacob Poznak, the Japanese restaurant seats 42 guests and offers a menu of shareable and large format izakaya dishes.

TORONTO: As part of Waste Reduction Week, PrettyUgly will host a private, invite-only happy hour on October 24. The event will feature a discussion with mixologists and sustainability thought leaders, and it is hosted by Dairy Distillery founder Omid McDonald.
