Today In Events: 'Avengers: Endgame' Takes Home Best Movie at People's Choice Awards, Astroworld Festival Fans Injured In Stampede, New Orleans Airport's New Terminal Has Chaotic Weekend

1. 'AVENGERS: ENDGAME' TAKES HOME BEST MOVIE AWARD: Held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, the E! People’s Choice Awards ceremony Sunday night included top honors for Pink, Gwen Stefani, and Jennifer Aniston, while Avengers: Endgame took home the award for best movie. The Hollywood Reporter: "Among the other winners were Kevin Hart, making his first public appearance since he was involved in a serious car accident in September; Zendaya; Cole Sprouse; Jimmy Fallon; Blake Shelton; and Avengers: Endgame star Robert Downey Jr., who dedicated his award to the late Stan Lee."

2. ASTROWORLD FESTIVAL FANS INJURED IN STAMPEDE: Attendees at musician Travis Scott’s second annual Astroworld Festival, held in Houston, were hurt Saturday when a stampede broke out. Three fans suffered leg injuries when other festivalgoers entered the venue, NRG Park. The Hollywood Reporter: “This year's Astroworld Festival—which [was] expected to draw about 50,000 people—included performances by Scott, Migos, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Pharrell, Marilyn Manson, Megan Thee Stallion, Playboi Carti, DaBaby, Rosalia, Young Dolph, Pop Smoke, Sheck Wes, and more.”

3. NEW ORLEANS AIRPORT NEW TERMINAL HAS CHAOTIC WEEKEND: A new terminal at the New Orleans Airport, which opened last week, has generally been well received, but the experience of travelers there this weekend was anything but a Big Easy. The Times-Picayune: “Travelers described a chaotic scene Sunday morning in security lines, where the number of people overwhelmed the system in place to move them forward. Getting from the airport to the city has also been a problem. In the past few days, lines for taxis and ride-hailing service vehicles have stretched over an hour at times, as the traffic pattern makes it difficult for those vehicles to get to waiting areas.”
