HONG KONG: The Hong Kong Tourism Board has appointed Dane Cheng as its new executive director. He most recently was executive director of Hang Lung Properties, and previously held senior positions at Cathay Pacific Airways.

LOS ANGELES: The Los Angeles Convention Center has two new hires: Scott Banks is the new vice president of security and guest services, while Patrick Smart is the new general manager of Taste of L.A. by Levy.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The Little Lighthouse Foundation will host its Season Opening Party: Blanc de Blancs on November 23 at the Deck at Island Gardens. The organization, which supports underserved children and families, is selling tickets as well as V.I.P. cabanas and tables with bottle service.

NEW YORK: The Coalition for the Homeless is hosting the 25th annual ArtWalk NY tonight. The party and art auction will be held at Spring Studios.

SAN FRANCISCO:  InterContinental San Francisco has appointed Raymond Vermolen as general manager. A veteran of InterContinental properties worldwide, with 26 years of hotel experience, Vermolen most recently was the general manager at Hotel Indigo in Los Angeles.

TORONTO: The Canadian International AutoShow, which begins February 14, announced it is increasing the number of electric vehicles available for test drives, reflecting a growing interest in the technology. Organizers also expect a record number of electric vehicles to be displayed on the show floor.
