People/Events/Accounts: News About InfoComm, Swarovski at the Academy Awards, and Bumble's Plans for Valentine's Day

LAS VEGAS: InfoComm 2020 announced a new show feature, the Live Events Experience, which will focus on audiovisual technology in live events. The experience will include an interactive tech playground for attendees to test products and performances, showing off lighting control, video projection, audio, and more, according to Rochelle Richardson, senior vice president of expositions and events at AVIXA. The show is scheduled for June 13‑19.

LOS ANGELES: The stage design for Sunday's Academy Awards will feature 40,000 Swarovski crystals. Swarovski worked with creative director Jason Sherwood on the design, which includes a 1,100-pound swirl made of crystals. 

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Peréz Art Museum will host the seventh annual Art & Soul celebration on February 15. Event proceeds will go towards the PAMM Fund for African American Art.

Markham McGill has been named a domestic sales manager for the Monroe County Tourist Development Council, which handles tourism promotion for the Florida Keys & Key West.

MILWAUKEE: BizTimes: "Visit Milwaukee today announced that it is creating a new sports division within the organization and has promoted Marissa Werner to be its director of sports development."

NEW YORK: Jim Mooney has been named director of hotel sales at Sheraton New York Times Square. Mooney previously served as area director of sales and marketing for 11 Starwood properties in New York and New Jersey. 

The dating and networking app Bumble is sponsoring the "What's Love Got To Do with It" singles event on Valentine’s Day at the Crown bar, which is operated by Gerber Group.

SAN FRANCISCO: The 43rd annual San Francisco Decorator Showcase will take place April 25-May 25. Organizers announced more than 20 interior and landscape designers who will contribute to the showcase, designing 29 distinct spaces in a Mediterranean-style house located in the West Clay Park neighborhood near Seacliff and the Presidio. The event benefits the San Francisco University High School Financial Aid Program.
