CALGARY: The Shaw Charity Classic tournament's annual fundraising campaign, Shaw Birdies for Kids, has continued to raise money amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The campaign is using #ChipInForKids in an effort to boost support for the 213 Alberta youth-based charities that are connected to the Shaw Charity Classic and its charitable program. Canadians can text KIDS to 30333 to donate $10 between now and Aug. 30.

MONTREAL: La Ronde amusement park will gradually reopen as of July 25 for season-pass holders, and Aug. 3 for all other guests. The amusement park is taking precautionary measures by using an online reservation system to manage attendance, staggering arrival times to minimize proximity exposure, using thermal imaging to take guests' temperatures, and requiring masks on all visitors over the age of two. Season-pass holders can reserve their spots beginning July 20 at noon, and other visitors on July 22.

Taking over four locations throughout the city—including Ontario Place and Downsview Park—the DriveInTO program is offering movie screenings, concerts, sports broadcasts, and other free events that comply with COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

VANCOUVER: Organizers announced Wednesday that the 43rd annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival, previously slated to take place July 17-19 at Jericho Beach Park, has been canceled due to COVID-19. The festival annually celebrates traditional and contemporary folk and roots music from around the world with artists, vendors, and festival supporters. The event has been rescheduled for July 16-18, 2021.
