CALGARY: The sixth annual India Film Festival will feature a hybrid event with three days of drive-in showings at the Big Rock Brewery. To secure tickets for the free event, guests are asked to register online in advance. Films will also be available online for the entire month of September and can be streamed across Canada.
EDMONTON: Special Olympics Alberta has announced that the 2021 Summer Games, that were set to take place July 9-11 in Strathcona County, have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers have confirmed that the partnership with Strathcona County has been extended and the venue will host the 2023 Winter Games.
MONTREAL: Le Grand Poutinefest will run Aug. 27-29 at Les Galeries de la Capitale. The drive-through event will feature poutine dishes, and guests will be able to place orders using various QR codes that will lead to digital menus and instructions. All staff members will be wearing masks and gloves and will be following all public health precautions.
TORONTO: The 15th annual Artfest at the Distillery will take place virtually from Sept. 4-7. Guests who tune in can browse paintings, jewelry, clothing, leatherworks, edibles, and more from 80 different artists.
VANCOUVER: This year's Word Vancouver Literary Festival takes place Sept. 10-27. The event will feature both in-person and virtual events, including showcases like Words Across Canada with author Michael Christie and Poetry in the Park with Evelyn Lau.
