CANADA: The Canadian Independent Music Video Awards, the Shaw Charity Classic, and More

NATIONAL: Dropout Entertainment is hosting the Canadian Independent Music Video Awards, a monthlong digital content for videos released by independent Canadian artists in 2020. Canadians are invited to vote for their favorite videos online; winners will be announced at a livestreamed event in February. The awards are now in their third year.

CALGARY: The Shaw Charity Classic has raised more than $12.5 million for 200 youth-based charities across Alberta. Almost 3,000 people donated to the PGA Tour Champion fundraiser this year, despite its annual in-person event being canceled due to COVID-19. The 2021 installment of the Shaw Charity Classic is slated to take place Aug. 11-15 at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club in Calgary.

MONTREAL: The 2021 Osheaga Music and Arts Festival, which takes place July 31 to Aug. 2 at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène, will feature headlining performances from the Foo Fighters, Cardi B, and Post Malone.

TORONTO: The Revenue Cinema, which at 109 years old is the city's oldest operating movie theater, is selling naming rights to its seats. The seats, which each cost $250, feature an engraved plaque with a name and that person's favorite movie. Funds will help support the theater during pandemic-related shutdowns.

VANCOUVER: The Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden and the Bright Nights Stanley Park Christmas Train, originally scheduled to take place through the month of December, have been canceled. Ticket holders for both events will be refunded.
