CANADA: Event Tech Live's New Show, Toronto's Hot Docs Podcast Festival and More

NATIONAL: UK-based Event Tech Live is launching a dedicated virtual event for the United States and Canada, running June 8-9, 2021. Event Tech Live USA & Canada will spotlight technology-based solutions for events; Marco Giberti and Dahlia El Gazzar will host from two live stages, while a third stage will feature exclusive interviews and tech demonstrations.

Global wedding planning company The Knot Worldwide has launched two new diversity measures. The first is Fellowship for Change, which will offer qualifying small businesses exclusive educational resources, mentorship opportunities, and networking and financial support; the second is a new vendor filter that allows people to search for companies that are Black-owned, LGBTQ+-owned and more.

CALGARY: In consultation with Freestyle Canada and Canada Snowboard, the International Governing Body for Skiing and Snowboarding (FIS) has announced that Calgary will no longer host the 2021 world championships. The "bubble"-like events had been slated to run from Feb. 24 through mid-March, but officials no longer think it's safe to have a large number of international athletes coming into the country. 

MONTREAL: MontrĂ©al Space for Life will host the 21st Seed Festival Feb. 3-7. The virtual event, organized by urban farming network Cultiver MontrĂ©al, will include a program of Q&As, learning opportunities and more centered around horticultural products and service providers.

TORONTO: From Jan. 27-29, the annual Hot Docs Podcast Festival in Toronto is back with a new virtual experience. Special guests include Elamin Abdelmahmoud from "Pop Chat" and Sarah Marshall from "You're Wrong About."
