CANADA: Collision’s Speaker Lineup, Edmonton’s Dining Domes, an Intimate Concert Series and More

NATIONAL: North American tech conference Collision has revealed the speaker lineup for its virtual event, taking place April 20-22. Currently, 250 speakers have been announced, including Mark Ruffalo, Andrew Yang, Chelsea Handler and Ryan Reynolds; more are expected to be announced every week. April marks the second virtual edition of the conference, which had previously been planned for Toronto; last year’s virtual edition drew 32,000 people.

The Canadian Greenhouse Conference will host a virtual event from Oct. 6-7, 2021. The conference, themed Seeds of Change, will feature a virtual New Varieties Display and Research Poster Session, as well as new ideas to encourage supplier and grower engagement. More details will be announced next month.

The newest installment of Creatively Caffeinated—a discussion series for hospitality professionals—takes place March 18 at 6 p.m. The virtual event will be called Boss Babes: Real Women, Real Talk, and will be hosted by LaJoy Plans founder Melva LaJoy Jones. A group of four female entrepreneurs will discuss their paths to success.

EDMONTON: The Geoscapes dining series kicked off at Edmonton’s Victoria Golf Course on March 4, and runs through April 8. The outdoor event features a weekly selection of multicourse meals, all served inside 15 heated, luxury domes. Diners can choose between meat, vegetarian or gluten-free options, and all local health and safety protocols are being strictly followed.

VANCOUVER: Local taproom and eatery Say Ciao! has launched a new Friday-night concert series through the end of March. Limited to 20 diners—or one-quarter of the restaurant’s capacity—the weekly event costs $30 and requires advance reservations.
