CANADA: An Immersive Light Show, Capital Pride’s Hybrid event, the Canadian 10K Championships and More

NATIONAL: Virtual event and video production platform Brandlive has launched an update to its patent-pending Greenroom, which adds new features that allow partners to integrate the company’s content creation tools into their own platforms. With Greenroom’s easy-to-use tools, users have the ability to build, rehearse and pre-record segments ahead of time and then stream them as part of a live event, among other features.

MONTREAL: The Notre-Dame Basilica will once again host AURA, an immersive light show presented by Moment Factory that has drawn more than 650,000 visitors since launching in 2017. It takes place on Fridays and Saturdays, with shows running between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. 

OTTAWA: Capital Pride will host an in-person event on the Great Lawn at Lansdowne Park on Aug. 29. The gathering, which will include a mix of live and virtual performances, will be hosted by Canada’s Drag Race winner Priyanka and feature a beer garden, food trucks and more. The 2021 Capital Pride Festival takes place Aug. 23-29. 

TORONTO: Athletics Canada has announced that the 2021 Canadian 10K Championships will be moved to Toronto, and be part of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Oct. 17. The event had originally been planned as part of the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend in May, but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

VICTORIA: The Phillips Double Header, a music festival taking place Sept. 10-11 with acts like Black Mountain and The Beaches, will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Masks are encouraged but not mandatory at the festival, which is expected to draw 3,000 people to the rear lot of Phillips Brewing and Malting Co. on Government Street.
