CANADA: An Immersive ‘Bridgerton’ Experience, Calgary Film Festival, a Virtual Dinner Party and More

CALGARY: The Calgary Film Festival recently announced its 2021 lineup. There will be special events and over 175 films screened at movie theaters in downtown Calgary from Sept. 23 to Oct. 3. Fans will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test or full vaccination for the event, which was held virtually last year. This year, there will be a one-day digital screening of five of the films on Sept. 28.

CHATHAM-KENT, ONTARIO: The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance will host “Harvest Moon—A Virtual Dinner Party Experience” on Oct. 2. Hosted by celebrity chef and TV personality John Catucci, the event will include at-home meal boxes for two, complete with fresh produce provided by local Chatham-Kent farmers. Proceeds will support the alliance’s highest-priority needs. 

MONTREAL: Netflix will host “The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience” in Montreal on Jan. 22, 2022. The 90-minute immersive event, which is also making stops in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, will be a live concert and dance show inspired by the popular Bridgerton series. Tickets for the Montreal event go on sale on Sept. 16 for $45.

TORONTO: The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) has announced that its 90th annual convention, billed as the world’s largest mining show, will take place March 7-9, 2022, with a virtual event to follow on March 10-11. The event, which features trade fairs, panel discussions, product demos and more, typically draws 25,000 people from around the world. 

VANCOUVER: BC Culture Days takes place as a hybrid event from Sept. 24 to Oct. 24. The monthlong celebration of arts and culture has a Re:Imagine theme, with a mix of socially distanced events throughout Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey and other cities, plus prerecorded video content, self-guided activities and more.
