NATIONAL: Julius Solaris has joined all-in-one-event management platform Hopin as vice president of marketing strategy and events, where he’ll support the company’s continued growth by guiding core marketing strategies and engaging the event community. The industry veteran, who most recently worked at Swapcard and is the founder and former editor-in-chief of EventMB, will co-host Hopin’s EventMinded, a mental health summit for event professionals, on Oct. 12.

The Pink Agenda’s Virtual Gala will be hosted by Giuliana and Bill Rancic on Oct. 7. This is the first time the gala will be virtual; it will feature a livestream viewing experience along with an online silent auction, and it will bring together supporters from New York, Atlanta, Boston, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Chicago. The Pink Agenda is a nonprofit organization committed to breast cancer research, care and awareness. 

LOS ANGELES: Qwick, an on-demand staffing platform for the food and beverage industry, has debuted in Los Angeles. This is the company’s 11th operating city and second California location, following San Diego. Launched in 2018, Qwick provides a platform for food and beverage professionals to connect directly with hotels, caterers, event venues and restaurants.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The Gabriel South Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton, will open in Miami Beach this fall. This property on Ocean Drive has 132 guest rooms and suites and two pools, including a glass-bottom pool on the roof overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel also boasts two new destination restaurants, Meet Dalia and Meet Mia, by INK Entertainment.

PHILADELPHIA: The Pennsylvania Horticulture Society’s Philadelphia Flower Show will return to FDR Park in 2022. The outdoor show will run from June 11-19 and the theme will be "In Full Bloom." This is the second year that FDR Park is hosting the event, and organizers have evolved and upgraded the experience based on feedback from previous guests.
