CALGARY: The Calgary International Film Festival will host a conversation with actor and model Isabella Rossellini on Dec. 9. Originally slated to take place during the September festival, the event had been postponed due to COVID-19-related restrictions. The presentation will take place at TELUS Spark. Rossellini will also be the narrator of the Science Center's latest immersion gallery experience, Every Second, running until the end of January.
EDMONTON: The Festival of Trees, presented by the University Hospital Foundation, will be a hybrid event this year. The festivities began on Nov. 2 and will run until Dec. 23. All funds raised will go towards supporting people who live with end-stage kidney disease. Some of the events include Gifts of Gratitude, Santa's Breakfast and a 50/50 raffle.
TORONTO: Pingle's Farm Market is hosting a Christmas Fest this year. The festival will run from Nov. 27 to Dec. 19, and guests can enjoy winter wagon rides, Mrs. Claus book readings, bonfire pits and live music. In addition, anyone who attends can go shopping in Mistletoe Market and pick out their own Christmas tree. General admission tickets are $15.
VANCOUVER: Savor the Couve, an event that helps generate revenue for Vancouver restaurants, is returning for a second year. More than 80 restaurants and 16 nonprofits will be featured, and each week five different restaurants will collaborate to create a five-course meal for two.
Tacofino, one of Vancouver's hotspots for tacos and burritos, is highlighting nachos this November during a seven-day pop-up event. Nacho Average November will run from Nov 16-23; there are four nacho options guests can choose from, and the signature dish will be made with roasted jalapeños, feta, cheddar, Monterey jack, salsa fresca and crema. The event is exclusively for the West Cordova location.
